New Kiwibuild homes coming to Point England

Seventy-five new high quality apartments, including 61 more affordable KiwiBuild homes, have just been released by NZ Living as part of the Hinaki neighbourhood on the corner of Pilkington and Tripoli Roads. The Hinaki Street low-rise apartments are built from high quality materials and are centred around a green space with fruit trees, native plants and artwork sculptures.

Buying with Kiwibuild

KiwiBuild is a government initiative designed to increase the supply of more affordable housing options for New Zealanders. Homes built by KiwiBuild must be sold under the price cap of $650,000 for a three-bedroom home. This gives more people the opportunity to buy their own home. SHARED OWNERSHIP HOMES

A shared ownership home is jointly owned by Tāmaki Regeneration Company and a family. Over time, the family can increase their proportion of ownership. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who live in, or have a strong connection to Glen Innes, Pt England or Panmure.

First-time homebuyers or previous homeowners who have been making regular KiwiSaver contributions for at least three years, could be eligible for a First Home Grant of up to $10,000. You apply for the grant through Kāinga ora. You can get pre-approval (or even approval) directly on the Kāinga Ora website.

First Home Loans are 5% deposit loans issued by selected banks and other lenders, and underwritten by Kāinga Ora. Eligibility and lending criteria apply, so you’ll need to discuss your individual circumstances with a participating lender to find out if you qualify.
